BCEHL ANNOUNCES 2023-24 ALL-STAR TEAMS

Saanichton, B.C. - The British Columbia Elite Hockey League (BCEHL) is excited to announce the all-star teams for the 2023-24 season in the Female U18 AAA, U18 AAA, U17 AAA and U15 AAA leagues. The all-star teams are selected based off of regular season performance.

Female U18 AAA

The 2023-24 Female U18 AAA All-Star Team is:

Vancouver Island Seals goaltender Bronwynn Lee earned an all-star nod after leading the league with 21 appearances during the 2023-24 season. The Cowichan Valley MHA product posted a record of 4-13-0-4 and a goals against average of 3.43 during the regular season.

After a second-place finish in scoring among all Female U18 defenders with 20 points (4g-16a), Kilah Hodder of the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers was named an all-star for the 2023-24 season. The former Kelowna MHA player was recognized as the Female U18 Defender of the Month for September/October after she put up 10 points (2g-8a) in 11 games played.

All-star Cassandra Kehler was a standout on the Fraser Valley Rush blueline during the 2023-24 season. Kehler led all defenders in scoring during the regular season with 23 points (6g-17a) in 27 games played. The Surrey Female HA alum earned Female U18 Player of the Month honours during the month of January with a total of six points (3g-3a) in six games.

Fraser Valley Rush forward Hannah Dods earned all-star status after a successful offensive campaign. In 27 regular season games, Dods registered 35 points (16g-19a), which was good for third in league scoring. The Abbotsford Female HA product led the league in multiple offensive categories including power play goals (6), power play points (13) and points-per-game (1.30).

After finishing at the top of the Female U18 scoring race during the regular season, Vancouver Island Seals' forward Zaynab Kalyan was an all-star selection. The Juan de Fuca MHA alum registered 37 points (11g-26a) in 30 games. Kalyan was also productive on special teams as she led the league in shorthanded points (3) and was tied for fourth in power play points (8). Kalyan's strong finish to the regular season was recognized as she was awarded the Female U18 Player of the Month in February.

Thompson-Okanagan Lakers' forward Holly Magnus was an Female U18 AAA all-star after a top-10 finish in scoring during the 2023-24 season. The Greater Vernon MHA alum skated in 26 games during the regular season, and put up 21 points (8g-13a).

Vancouver NE Chiefs netminder Nathan Claydon was chosen as the all-star netminder for the U18 league. Across 21 starts during the regular season, Claydon posted a record of 17-2-0-2, and his 17 wins were tied with Fraser Valley's Jake Torget for the league lead. The Ridge Meadows MHA product posted seven shutouts during the regular season, which included a perfect month of November where he was named U18 Goaltender of the Month with a 3-0-0-0 record with three shutouts.

Tyson Moss of the Vancouver NE Chiefs earned the nod as a U18 all-star after leading all defenders in goals (12), assists (37) and points (49). The Port Moody AHA alum was a key contributor to the Chiefs' power play success as he led all U18 skaters with 15 assists while on the man-advantage. Moss was recognized on three occasions as U18 Defender of the Month in September/October, January and February.

After a second-place finish in scoring among U18 defenders, Tristan Payne of the Vancouver NW Hawks was a U18 all-star for the 2023-24 season. The Hawks' captain skated in 28 games during the regular season, and totaled 34 points (11g-23a). The North Shore Winter Club product was awarded with the U18 Defender of the Month in November.

Okanagan's Aiden Bruce was a U18 all-star after he led the league in a multitude of categories including goals (35) and points (61). Bruce was also a key contributor on special teams as he led the U18 league in shorthanded goals (5). The Kelowna MHA alum also scored a league-high seven game-winning goals.

Lucas McDonald was the third member of the Vancouver NE Chiefs selected as an all-star for the 2023-24 season. The New Westminster MHA product led the Chiefs with 58 points (32g-26a) in 34 regular season games. McDonald finished first among all U18 skaters in power play goals (11) and power play points (24).

Fraser Valley Thunderbirds forward Marco Oliviero earned U18 all-star honours after he finished the regular season with 60 points (35g-25a) in 36 games played. The former Langley MHA skater was recognized as U18 Forward of the Month in January when he put up 17 points (9g-8a) in eight games played.

U17 AAA

Okanagan Rockets goaltender Finn McKiernan has received all-star status for the 2023-24 season. The Kelowna MHA product enjoyed a season between the pipes that saw him lead all U17 netminders with a 2.46 goals against average, and a second-place finish in wins with 12.

Joshua Lee of the Valley West Giants finished second among U17 defenders with 30 points (3g-27a) on route to being named a U17 all-star. The Semiahmoo MHA alum was celebrated as the U17 Defender of the Month in November when he put up 11 points (1g-10a) in eight games played.

Thompson Blazers' defender Aaron Zulinick's all-star season saw him lead all U17 defenders and finish second among all skaters with 48 points (12g-36a) in 35 games during the regular season. The Kamloops MHA product also put up a league-high 22 points (5g-17a) while on the power play.

Carson Callon led the Okanagan Rockets and finished third in league scoring with 47 points (35g-12a) on route to an all-star nod. Callon, who grew up playing for Kelowna MHA, was a clutch scorer as his nine game-winning goals led all U17 skaters.

Cariboo Cougars forward Blake Collison was named to the U17 all-star team after a season that saw him put up 41 points (19g-22a) in 28 games played, which was good for a tie for fifth in league scoring. The Terrace MHA alum finished with a points-per-game average of 1.46, which was good for second among all U17 skaters who played a minimum of 20 games.

After leading all skaters in scoring with 56 points (34g-22a) in 34 games, Thompson Blazers forward Keegan Sanders is a U17 all-star. The former Kamloops MHA player was recognized as the U17 Forward of the Month on two occasions as he led the league in scoring in December and January.

U15 AAA

Fraser Valley Thunderbirds goaltender Davin Chyld grabbed an all-star spot after he led all U15 goaltenders in wins (13), shutouts (5) and goals against average (1.12). The former Chilliwack MHA netminder was a key contributor to Fraser Valley's success where they finished with a record of 24-5-0-1 during the regular season.

Markus Halliwell of the Vancouver NE Chiefs was an all-star in the U15 league after he led all defenders with 36 points (9g-27a) in 30 games played. The blueliner from Ridge Meadows MHA was a key contributor to the Chiefs' special teams as his 14 power play points (3g-11a) was second among all U15 skaters.

Koltin Herfst of the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds was an all-star during the 2023-24 season after his 35 points (9g-26a) in 28 games was good for second among all U15 defenders, trailing only fellow all-star blueliner Markus Halliwell. The Chilliwack MHA product earned the nod as the U15 Defender of the Month for September/October.

Completing the trio of U15 all-stars from Fraser Valley, forward Daniel Ewert earned the nod as he totaled 42 points (22g-20a) in 28 games during the regular season. The Mission MHA product had a strong month of January where he had 13 points (8g-5a) in seven games, on route to Player of the Month honours.

After a season that saw him put up 67 points (40g-27a) across 29 regular season games, Vancouver NE Chiefs forward Christiano D'Addabbo was named a U15 all-star. Along with leading the league in points, the Coquitlam MHA alum finished first in points-per-game (2.31), game-winning goals (9) and power play points (15).

Jonathan Zhang of the Valley West Giants was named to the U15 all-star team after he registered 45 points (21g-24a) in 30 games played. Zhang, who started off with Semiahmoo MHA, was named U15 Player of the Month in February with 16 points (7g-9a) in eight games played.
