BCEHL PLAYERS AND COACHES OF THE YEAR 2025-26

Saanichton, B.C. - The BCEHL is excited to announce both the Players of the Year and the Coaches of the Year award winners for the 2025-26 season. Winners have been chosen across the BCEHL for the Female U18 AAA, U18 AAA, U17 AAA and U15 AAA leagues.


The 2025-26 BCEHL Players of the Year are:

Female U18 AAA – Madison Kong (Greater Vancouver Comets/Burnaby MHA)
Greater Vancouver Comets' goaltender, Madison Kong, backstopped her team to the 2025-26 Female U18 Championship. Kong started all five playoff games for her squad, posting a .939 save percentage and a 1.67 goals against average. During the regular season, Kong held a record of 16-1-0-0, including five shutouts, and a 1.03 goals against average. Her play between the pipes also earned her BioSteel BCEHL Player of the Month honours for November, January, and February.

U18 AAA – Brayden Jugnauth (Okanagan Rockets/Kelowna MHA)
Okanagan Rockets' forward, Brayden Jugnauth will take home the U18 AAA’s top individual honours this season. The 2011-born player finished this year's playoffs with nine goals and nine assists in just six games, en route to helping the Rockets earn back-to-back U18 Championships. During the regular season, he led the U18 league in goals scored with 32, and 58 points (32g-26a) overall, and finished in second place in league scoring at year's end. He was also named BioSteel BCEHL Player of the Month for February. Jugnauth and the Rockets also captured their second straight Pacific Regional Championship, and will represent the BCEHL at this year’s TELUS Cup National Championship.

U17 AAA – Linkin Ashton (Okanagan Rockets/West Kelowna MHA)
Okanagan Rockets’ forward, Linkin Ashton, finished atop the goal scoring leaderboard in the U17 league during the 2025-26 regular season, registering 30 goals in 32 games, and 44 points overall. His point total saw him finish fourth-place among all U17 skaters, and earned him BioSteel BCEHL Player of the Month honours for November and January.

U15 AAA – Noah Carignan (Fraser Valley Thunderbirds/Langley MHA)
Second-year, U15 AAA Fraser Valley Thunderbirds' forward Noah Carignan set the single-season scoring record for the U15 league following a 78 point (31g-47a) 2025-26 campaign. Carignan earned BioSteel BCEHL Player of the Month honours for September-October, and January, following a scorching start to the 2026 calendar year when he registered 13 points (5g-8a) over four games.


The 2025-26 BCEHL Coaches of the Year are:

Female U18 AAA - Melanie Jue (Greater Vancouver Comets)
It was a year of “seconds” for Greater Vancouver Comets’ head coach Melanie Jue. During the 2025-26 season, her squad earned a second straight Female U18 Championship, a second straight season finishing atop the regular season standings, and now a second straight Female U18 AAA Coach of the Year Award. The Comets finished in first-place during the regular season with a 26-5-0-1 record, and dropped just a single game during the playoffs.

U18 AAA – Tyler Parfeniuk (Okanagan Rockets)
The Okanagan Rockets have gone on quite a run under Tyler Parfenuik. The club is headed to their second straight TELUS Cup after capturing consecutive Pacific Regional Championships. The Rockets finished the regular season with a record of 26-7-1-0, which was good for second overall. The defending champions were ready once the playoffs began as they did not drop a game over their three series en route to claiming back-to-back BCEHL U18 Championships. This is Parfeniuk’s first Coach of the Year Award.

U17 AAA – Ty Babych (Vancouver North East Chiefs)
Head coach Ty Babych finished his third year at the helm of the Vancouver North East Chiefs in style, guiding his team to the 2026 U17 AAA Championship,and earning coach of the year honours. Babych’s award comes on the heels of a 24-10-2-0 regular season that saw the Chiefs finish second overall in league standings, and just two points shy of a first-place finish overall.

U15 AAA – Max Mowat (Okanagan Rockets)
The Okanagan Rockets' head coach, Max Mowat, just guided his team to the greatest season in BCEHL’s U15 AAA history as they compiled a 27-3-0-0 record good for a league record 54 points. The squad then flew through the post-season tournament with a flawless 6-0 record as they captured the organizations' second championship in as many years. This is Mowat’s second U15 AAA Coach of the Year Award. He also captured the award following the 2022-23 season.
