BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - DECEMBER 19-21

Saanichton, B.C. - All eyes will be on the U17 league in the final week of BCEHL action in 2025, as four teams will have a chance to take the league lead heading into the new year. Let's take a further look at what's in store before the holiday break.

Female U18 AAA

A rare three-game series are the only games in the Female U18 league this weekend. The third-place Fraser Valley Rush (11-8-0) will look to gain ground on the second-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (12-6-1), while both teams will also have an opportunity to take top spot.

Friday's Female U18 Game:

Thompson-Okanagan Lakers @ Fraser Valley Rush - 6:15 p.m. - Langley Twin Rinks

Saturday's Female U18 Game:

Thompson-Okanagan Lakers @ Fraser Valley Rush - 9:00 a.m. - Langley Twin Rinks

Sunday's Female U18 Game:

U18 AAA

A close race for first and third place in the standings continues to be the storyline in the U18 league. Leading the pack by just one point, the first-place Okanagan Rockets (16-2-0) are hoping to add some separation at the top when they take on the fourth-place Cariboo Cougars (9-8-3), who themselves are a single point back of third. Elsewhere, the third-place Vancouver North West Hawks (10-10-2) will try to maintain their spot in the standings as they get set to host the fifth-place Thompson Blazers (9-10-1) for two games.

U17 AAA

The top of the U17 league has been a tight race all season long, as only three points separate the first and fourth place teams. The league-leading Vancouver North West Hawks (15-6-3) will have to be at their best to hold the top spot as they get set to face the fourth-place Okanagan Rockets (14-6-2), who are right on their heels. Only two points back of first, the second-place Cariboo Cougars (15-7-1) will also aim to end their weekend at the top of the standings as they will host the fifth-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (13-8-1).

U15 AAA

It's a busy end of 2025 for the U15 league, as all teams will be in action. The third-place Thompson Blazers (10-7-1) aim to extend their lead against the fifth-place Cariboo Cougars (10-8-0), who trail them by a single point. Meanwhile, the second-place Okanagan Rockets (15-1-0), just two points back of first, will look to head into the new year with a nearly perfect record after a two-game set against the sixth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (4-10-2).
