BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - FEBRUARY 13-16

For Immediate Release

February 11, 2026

Saanichton, B.C. - The BCEHL’s 2025-26 season is down to crunch time with all four leagues in action and playoff spots on the line. The marquee matchup is in the U15 league where the top two teams will face-off for a pair of games with only three points separating them. The U18 league will see another top of the standings match-up when the first-place Vancouver North East Chiefs will face the third-place Cariboo Cougars for a two-game set. Get ready for a massive weekend of AAA hockey ahead.

Female U18 AAA

The Female U18 league sees a lone two-game set with the league-leading Greater Vancouver Comets (23-4-0-1=47 points) welcoming the second-place Fraser Valley Rush (19-10-0-1=39 points). This weekend’s games serves as the Rush’s final games of the season. Even though they are unable to catch the Comets in the standings, these games could very well be a playoff preview. The Comets have dominated the season series to this point with a 5-0-0-0 record, but the Rush will look to gain momentum going into the playoffs.

With two weeks remaining, the league-leading Vancouver North East Chiefs (23-4-0-2=48 points) hold a one point lead with a game in hand over the second-place Okanagan Rockets (23-6-1-0=47 points) as the race for first will come down to the wire. The Chiefs head to Prince George this weekend for a pair of games versus the third-place Cariboo Cougars (16-11-2-1=35 points) on Friday and Saturday night. The Cougars hold a four point lead with a game in hand over the fourth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (13-13-4-1=31 points).

The Rockets are home to the sixth-place Valley West Giants (8-15-4-2=22 points) on Saturday and Sunday. The Rockets hold a 4-1-0-0 record versus the Giants this year.

U17 AAA

The U17 league completes its 2025-26 schedule this weekend with the exception of a lone game next Wednesday night. The Vancouver North East Chiefs (24-10-1-0=49 points) sit atop the standings and hold their destiny in their own hands with just one game remaining in their schedule. If they beat the seventh-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, they will take home first place.

The real drama is the race for the two through five spots in the standings. Currently, there are two points separating four teams. The marquee matchup of weekend is when the second-place Cariboo Cougars (22-11-0-1=45 points) welcome the tied for third-place Thompson Blazers (19-10-4-1=43 points) to Prince George for a two-game set. Meanwhile the tied for third-place North West Vancouver Hawks (20-9-3-0=43 points) will play three games this weekend as they battle the eighth-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (11-19-4-0=26 points) on Friday and Saturday, and then take on the sixth-place Valley West Giants (16-14-1-2=35 points) on Monday. Finally, the tied for third-place Okanagan Rockets (20-11-3-0=43 points) travel to Delta to tangle with the Giants on Saturday and Sunday. Can hardly wait to see what the standings will look like when the dust clears.

U15 AAA

The Okanagan Rockets (26-2-0-0=48 points) moved a step closer to finishing in first place last weekend when they went a perfect 4-0-0-0 at the Super Showcase. The now second-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (24-3-1-0=49 points) had a more difficult showcase finishing the weekend with a 2-1-1-0 record and have now slipped three points behind the Rockets. The good news is that both of these teams hold their destinies in their own hands as they go toe-to-toe this weekend in a two-game set in Kelowna on Saturday and Sunday. The Rockets lead the season series with a 2-1-0-0 record in the head-to-head matchups.

The Rockets and T-Birds are not the only teams in the U15 league that are in a fight for playoff seeding. The fourth place Vancouver NE Chiefs (14-10-2-1=31 points) make the trek to Prince George to face the fifth place Cariboo Cougars (15-13-0-0=30 points) for a two-game tussle. The Chiefs hold a game in hand over the Cougs, but this weekend's match-up could go a long way to setting the regular standings.

The battle for sixth place will also be determined this weekend. The Valley West Giants (8-20-0-0) and the North West Hawks (5-17-3-3) are tied for sixth-place with 16 points a piece. Valley West welcomes the third-place Thompson Blazers (18-9-1-0=37 points) for a pair of games while the Hawks face-off in a home-and-home series against the eighth-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (1-24-1-1=4 points).
