BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - NOVEMBER 1-2

Saanichton, B.C. - We are starting the month of November with plenty to look forward to in the BCEHL! The Female U18 league features a clash between two top contenders, while the U15 league standings remain heavily contested. Let's take a further look at what's ahead.

Female U18 AAA

There are two matchups in the Female U18 league in its seventh week of action. Headlining the BCEHL this week, the third-place Greater Vancouver Comets (6-2-0) will face off against the league-leading Fraser Valley Rush (8-5-0) in a battle for the top spot in the standings. Meanwhile, the fifth-place Vancouver Island Seals (1-8-0) return home to host the fourth-place Northern Capitals (4-5-1) for a two-game series.

Saturday’s Female U18 Games:

Northern Capitals @ Vancouver Island Seals – 5:00 p.m. – Juan de Fuca Ice Arena

Fraser Valley Rush @ Greater Vancouver Comets – 6:00 p.m. – Queen’s Park Arena

Sunday’s Female U18 Games:

Northern Capitals @ Vancouver Island Seals – 8:30 a.m. – Juan de Fuca Ice Arena

Greater Vancouver Comets @ Fraser Valley Rush – 12:15 p.m. – Langley Twin Rinks

U18 AAA

There is a lone matchup in the U18 league to kick off the month of November. The fifth-place Valley West Giants (4-4-2) will hit the road to take on the seventh-place Vancouver North West Hawks (2-6-2).

Valley West Giants @ Vancouver North West Hawks – 3:00 p.m. – Canlan Ice Sports North Shore

U17 AAA

The U17 league will see its top teams in action this weekend. The second-place Cariboo Cougars (9-1-1) will look to continue their strong start to the season when they host the third-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (7-3-1). Meanwhile, the first-place Thompson Blazers (10-3-1) will welcome the seventh-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (3-5-1) for two games.

U15 AAA

The race for first-place is heating up in the U15 league, with a packed weekend of matchups to begin the calendar month. With only one loss this season, the second-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (8-1-0) will look to fend off the fourth-place Cariboo Cougars (6-4-0). The league-leading Okanagan Rockets (8-0-0) will aim to continue their perfect start to the season against the sixth-place Valley West Giants (3-7-0). Meanwhile, the third-place Thompson Blazers (6-3-1), are set to face a pivotal test against the fifth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (5-3-2), as only one point separates the two teams in the league standings.
