BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - NOVEMBER 14-16

Saanichton, B.C. - The BCEHL continues to put on a show! The U18 league has their first showcase of the season featuring a crucial clash between the top two teams. Meanwhile, the battle for first place shows no sign of slowing down in the Female U18 and the U17 leagues. Let's take a closer look at what's ahead.

Female U18 AAA

First place remains up for grabs in the Female U18 league. Tied for the league lead in points, the Fraser Valley Rush (9-6-0) will aim to separate themselves in the standings when they travel to the island to battle the fifth-place Vancouver Island Seals (1-10-0). Only one point back of top spot, the third-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (8-4-1) will look to climb in the standings in a showdown with the fourth-place Northern Capitals (5-6-1).

U18 AAA

Abbotsford will play host to the U18 Showcase this weekend, highlighted by a pivotal matchup at the top of the league standings. The final day of the showcase sees the second-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (9-2-0), who will look to hand the Okanagan Rockets (10-0-0) their first loss of the season in a showdown for first place. Also on Sunday, the third-place Thompson Blazers (6-5-1) will look to extend their lead in the standings against the fourth-place Cariboo Cougars (4-4-2).

U17 AAA

A tight race in the U17 league features multiple teams fighting for higher ground in the standings. The second-place Cariboo Cougars (11-3-1) are eyeing the top spot as they take on the fifth-place Okanagan Rockets (7-3-2), who are one point back of third. Meanwhile, the third-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (8-5-1) will aim to hold their ground against the sixth-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (6-5-1), just four points behind.

The U15 league is on a bye-week and will be back in action on November 22. During the break, six of the league's teams will be attending the following tournaments:

Cariboo Cougars, Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, Vancouver North East Chiefs, and Vancouver North West Hawks - Pat Quinn Classic U15 Elite Invitational, Burnaby, B.C.

Thompson Blazers - Hockey Hounds U15 AAA, Medicine Hat, AB

Okanagan Rockets - Rocky Mountain Classic, Calgary, AB
