BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - OCTOBER 30 - NOVEMBER 1

For Immediate Release
October 28, 2026

Saanichton, B.C. - All four leagues are back in action this weekend! Several teams will have their eyes set on climbing the standings, including an intriguing match-up in the U17 league featuring the Greater Vancouver Canadians and the Vancouver North East Chiefs that could have major implications on the overall standings.

Women's U18 AAA

The league-leading Greater Vancouver Comets (9-2-0-2=20 points) will look to extend their stranglehold on first place when they visit the third-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (4-4-2-0=10 points) in Vernon for a triple-header. However, a strong weekend from the Lakers could see them finish the weekend just four points behind the Comets for first overall.

U18 AAA

There are four teams in action this weekend in the U18 league. The third-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (6-5-1-0=13 points) will clash with the sixth-place Thompson Blazers (3-4-1-2=9 points) in Burnaby. While the fourth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (5-5-0-0=10 points) will play a home-and-home series against the fifth-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (4-4-0-1=9 points). All four clubs are looking to catch Okanagan and Cariboo who are tied a top of the standing with 18 points.

U17 AAA

There is a traffic jam at the top of the U17 standings as a mere five points separates five different clubs. The fifth-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (6-5-0-1=13 points) will look to make it an even larger logjam as they take on the second-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (8-1-0-0=16 points) in a home-and-home series. The top-ranked Cariboo Cougars (18 points) are not active this weekend.

U15 AAA

The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (4-4-0-1=9 points) will have their sights set on a potential four point weekend when they match up against the sixth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (5-5-0-0=10 points). A pair of wins would put the T-Birds right back into the conversation with the league’s top three teams: the Okanagan Rockets (20 points), Vancouver North East Chiefs (13 points), and the Cariboo Cougars (13 points).
